Personal Safety Equipment

All those involved in a BIG N ® application should wear appropriate safety equipment. 

When making transfers, operators should wear goggles, long trousers and long sleeve shirts, buttoned to the wrists, or overalls. 

When making and breaking connections during a transfer, operators should wear gloves and an approved canister type respirator. Operators must be clean-shaven to enable the respirator to fit the face correctly.

A kit full of personal safety equipment is attached to each nurse tank:

• Goggles
• Gloves
• Full face respirator
• Eye irrigator
• Water containers holding at least 25 litres of water.

Growers are also encouraged to purchase a BIG N safety kit including the items listed above.
